HIP & KNEE
The Physical Therapists at ISSR have over 80 years of successfully treating hips and knees in all age groups and all activity levels. Whether you are a professional athlete, weekend warrior, or around the block walker, we have the expertise to successfully evaluate and rehab your knees and hips to get you back to your activity or sport. Knee and hip pain most commonly stems from an “itis” or inflammation within the joint or in attaching muscles and tendons. Common diagnoses leading to hip and knee pain are tendinitis, bursitis, and osteoarthritis as well as movement impairment syndromes. We evaluate and assess each patient and customize an individual treatment program focusing on evidenced-based manual therapy, functional therapeutic exercise programs, and patient education. The Physical Therapists at ISSR have advanced certifications, hundreds of continuing education hours, and stay up to date on the latest advances in hip and knee rehabilitation, all to provide you with the most effective and efficient therapy.
Non-Operative Knee & Hip Program
Research has shown that physical activity is the single most effective non-drug treatment for improving pain and function.
AT ISSR, we know that every patient can’t have or chooses not to have surgery for advanced hip and knee pain. Our Physical Therapists have over 80 years of treating hip and knee pain with conservative rehabilitative measures in conjunction with treatments being provided by your physician. Non-operative treatment can often suffice for months or years before disability or pain potentially lead to joint replacements. Our non-operative program includes a combination of low-intensity strength and stability training, activity modification education, flexibility, balance and coordination, and overall fitness. Our Physical Therapists have advanced certifications and continually stay up to date on the latest evidence-based treatment approaches through continuing education conferences.
